WILD LOCKDOWN: MOTHER AND Youngster

17 May 2020

This portrait shows the mother European beaver (Castor fiber), who has recently given birth to this year's kits, and her offspring from last year.

Young beavers tend to stay with their families for about two years, during which they help bringing up the next generation of siblings. After that time they are usually driven out and have to find their own territory.
