I'm very pleased that the local agency for the protection of beavers is using one of my recent portraits of the beaver mother to support their work.

While I was out there observing the beavers, one of the rangers who protect the area asked me if I had seen whether the female beaver is lactating. They asked me to share any photo that provides evidence that she has kits with them and the agency. When I sent them my photo, the agency asked for permission to publish it.

I'm very happy to make a small contribution to the protection of these wonderful animals. I only hope that everybody else who attempts observing them will treat them with the necessary respect to not disturb the young family in their natural habitat.
