This couple of goosanders (Mergus merganser) live on our local river. We often see them fishing, but I wonder if they are nesting here.
Goosanders have their nests in cavities of trees and the hatchlings take a big leap of faith jumping out of the nest before they can fly to be carried to the river by their mother.
