I took this photo of a breeding herd of African elephants (Loxodonta africana) during a walk in the wilderness of iMfolozi. The area had been suffering from a long drought. Many large animals, as well as ourselves, used the dry riverbed for walking longer distances. It was a beautiful experience to share the same space with elephants, white rhinos, lions and hyenas. It was a bit like a highway and we all observed the rules of the road: keep a respectful distance and if someone larger than you approaches, get out of their way!
