Wild Lockdown: Nuthatch

I photographed this beautiful nuthatch (Sitta europaea) before the lockdown in the Swiss Alps. I can often hear them hacking on nuts and seeds that they wedge into the crevices of tree bark. Their hammering sounds like the typical sound of woodpeckers, just lighter and less resonating.
