Wild Lockdown: ORANGE TEETH

This photo of the female European beaver (Castor fiber) feeding on a willow tree shows her orange teeth.

Beavers need their incisors to chew through wood, take off bark and cut down trees. The enamel on the incisors contains iron and is very resistant to acid. The incisors are also are self-sharpening.
