Wild Lockdown: Memory of Hluhluwe-imfolozi

PIERA BERETTA 2020

I often remember this young male lion (Panthera leo) which we encountered high up on a huge tree in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi, South Africa. Unlike leopards, lions usually do not climb trees as it is rather difficult for them to get back down. This one stayed up for several days, while his brother was hiding in the high grass below.
