PIERA BERETTA 2020
It is very dry here, the earth in the garden is cracked, there is acute danger of forest fires. It is quite likely that we might get another record dry spring, maybe even record dry year.
As much as we all love the sun, nature is desperate for the rain that usually falls at this time of the year, but weather patterns have been upset for quite some time now. This photo which I took last November during a memorable trip to Selous, Tanzania, shows a herd of Masai giraffes (Giraffa camelopardalis) sheltering from unseasonal heavy rains under acacia trees aptly named umbrella thorn.
